Send someone in treatment
the will to get through it

This campaign ran in 2020 and is closed. It is kept here as a record. For ways to take part now, see Get involved.

For a whole year we could barely meet. If we could not gather, we would post something instead — to whoever is in a ward right now.

Why a book

What gets a person through treatment is one sentence: “When this is over, I’m going there.” The travel photobook ‘I See U Again’ was made from photographs taken on an 80-day journey after terminal cancer. It is not a book to read but a book you write your own places into.

So we sent it, free, to young adults in their 20s and 30s who were in treatment or under follow-up.

How it worked

  1. Think of someone in their 20s or 30s currently in treatment. If that was you, you could nominate yourself.
  2. Share the campaign post and fill in a short form with the delivery address.
  3. TTOBOM confirmed and posted the book.

The first 200 people were covered.
The campaign was supported by the 2020 Cancer Survivor-Led Project Fund, from the NOW fund established by The Beautiful Foundation and the cancer survivor living lab ONLAB.

I made this book a year after treatment, travelling alone, thinking about friends who were still in the ward.

2020 was also the year TTOBOM was formally incorporated as a non-profit association. It was a year of not being able to meet — which is exactly why we spent it working out how to reach people anyway.

The Korean original is on the TTOBOM Naver Cafe. The application form linked at the time closed with the campaign. Korean version of this page KO
